Sestra Erin Jones "Pust is coming!"

Zdravo!

It was another good week! I feel like I start every email out with that, but I guess there are worse things to start out with :)

My favorite part of the week was a lesson with Mojca, an inactive. She has a son who's only about 5 years old, and he had apparently been SUPER excited for us to come over! He was telling all of his friends at school that he was "getting a visit from the girls who speak English," and just wanted to play with us the whole time. He kept coming back out with things like part of a steamer for a gun and a colander for a helmet, and we played with him for a little while while Mojca was making palačinke. The reason I liked the visit so much, though, was that we were able to read together from the Book of Mormon (she doesn't always want to). Not only that, she's now reading on her own!! We've been inviting her to do so for a while, but she would always say, "no--not until I feel like I should." But she said she's read it several times in the last few weeks; she just opens it randomly and says she always finds an answer! She still says she isn't coming to church anytime soon, but this was a big step.

Church yesterday was great, too. Attendance has been a little low lately, but it picked back up yesterday. There were a few investigators there, plus an inactive member and his nonmember girlfriend. We went and talked to them for a little bit, and his girlfriend gave us her phone number and wants to meet with us! We're really excited to start meeting with her sometime this week.

We also had a leadership meeting on Friday. Sister Flanders and I finally got to go to one together! One thing that I really learned and wanted to focus on was finding and getting people on baptismal date. We really need a baptism here in Celje! I really want to find some new investigators to meet with and get someone on baptismal date soon.

Another exciting thing about this week is that it's almost Pust! Pust is a big Slovene "scaring away winter" holiday. They sell doughnuts everywhere (krof--big doughnuts filled usually with apricot jam), and dress up in costumes. We went outside on Saturday and saw people dressed up and got really excited! Pust isn't even until tomorrow, but we've been seeing doughnuts and costumes everywhere. We're super excited for tomorrow! I'll try to get some good pictures of Pust :)
I think that's it for this week! Love you all! Čao!
